ANOTHER EDIT!: Okay! (Laughing at myself) I was getting so few responses this morning that I thought perhaps the number of questions was too overwhelming! LOL! So I cut out the last three. How about this… I will repost the last three questions but no “points” will be taken away as long as you try to answer at least three. Sorry for yankin’ y’all around! I promise to do better on my next giveaway! Next time I’ll make it a whole lot easier to win!! (You all are so patient to be humoring me in this way!) :^D

Oooh, this is too much fun! It’s really fun to be able give away prizes that I myself would really like to win, but what makes it even more fun is that I get to decide how to go about giving them away. There are five 6 month free trial subscriptions to Netflix to be won. Thanks Netflix executive types for allowing me host this give-away!

Now, before I proceed with this contest, let me assure you that I don’t go about my home and my life making everything about me. I cook for people, pick up approximately 23 socks around the house, I find tiny pairs of skid-marked undies lying in the strangest of places, I wipe boohinies and scrape chunks of crustified milk-laden breakfast cereal off of my tables and floors with my fingernails but this is Blogland and Blogland is my playground, my form of self-expression, my Calgon. And since you are here at my place I’m guessing that you don’t so much mind me talking about me since that’s what I do about half the time here.

I hope everyone has fun with this! (Oh, and if you suggest that Rosie O’ Donnell be cast as me or Steve Buscemi be cast as my man, you will automatically lose. Capiche?) Gosh, it’s fun making the rules!

Here is the Quiz, strangely written in third person:

Question #1

What is Nan’s favorite chick-flick?

Question #2

In a movie about Nan and her man’s life who would Nan choose to play herself? Who would play her man?

Question #3

What movie is most likely to make Nan cry every single time she watches it?

*******The following Questions are the ones that I had removed but you are free to take a stab at anyways!**********

Question #4

What movie is most likely to make Nan pee her pants laughing every time she watches it?

Question #5

What is the most oft repeated line from Napolean Dynamite in our house?

Question #6

Which movie does Nan know almost completely by heart?

The five people who get the most answers correct will be the winners! If more than five people have all of the answers correct or tie for how many they got correctly I will do a random drawing of the pool of good guessers and mind readers. I am posting this Wednesday night because I know that I can’t get up early enough to catch some of you with your morning coffee otherwise. You may post your answers anytime between 12:02 a.m. Thursday morning and 12:00 Thursday night/Friday morning!

EDITED TO SAY: I’VE JUST CUT THE QUIZ IN HALF! If you have no clue and are no good at mind reading, just have fun with it! Take a stab at it! At the end of the day it could end up being just a random drawing of whoever ventures their best guesses! :^D I MUST GIVE THESE CODES AWAY!!

** Please note: the winner will need to provide me with their full name and mailing address. Netflix sends a card via mail with a code they can use to get six months of free service with the $14.95 plan (where you can have three movies checked out at a time). That’s it. And the winner’s details will not be used for any other purposes. *This contest is open to U.S. residents only.

  1. I’m going to go out on a limb here and guess that you’re a Pride and Prejudice fan–probably the full A&E 28 hour one.Napolean Dynamite would probably be the comedy winner, and as for quotes from it? Hmm…I should just start throwing some out and see if I hit the mark:I made a buttload of those at scout camp?A delicious bass? You know I’m training to be a cage fighter?Girl like a guy with skills?Hunting wolverines in Alaska with my uncle?Or perhaps the one that gets quoted the most at our house: Give me some of your tots!I’ve practically quoted the whole movie. GOSH!

  2. Okay Nan, Completely guessing here okay.1. Fried Green Steel Magnolias2. I’d say Julia Roberts and George Clooney since They are both he kind of spunky and they have good chemistry on screen.3. I’d say your home movies with you and your kids being born. But if it’s Hollywood movie you need then I say Terms of Endearment. 4. I really don’t know about this one so I will say Monty Python. Although you have to have a warped sense of humor to appreciate it. 5.I’ve never heard of this movie so I have no clue. I guess I’ll just have to guess…Will somebody please say Petawawa6. Since you mentioned in Question 5, I guess Napolean Dynamite. How is that for pure guessing?CindyW

  3. Ok, here it is~just guesses since I’m clueless :o)1. So many good ones out there..2. A cute little redhead and a handsome leading man3. Napoleon Dynamite~?4. Stranger Than Fiction5. Sweet6. Probably a kid movie :o)

  4. Okay, I am not going to do very well with this, but I will enter and hope you end up having a random drawing! My husband would love this prize (and then he wouldn’t make fun of me for blogging). :)1. Pride and Prejudice2. Reese Witherspoon and Matthew McConaughey 3. Steel Magnolias

  5. Question #1Ann of Green GablesQuestion #2Ben Affleck (Not really a fan of his, but I saw a picture of your hubby holding your littlest one when he was in NICU that reminded me of him) and Reese Witherspoon.Question #3Say AnythingQuestion #4Wallace and GrommitQuestion #5″Tina, come get your ham!”Question #6Monty Python’s Holy Grail

  6. lauren s.–I promise I didn’t steal Reese Witherspoon from you! I thought it up all on my own. 🙂

  7. I’ve asked my connection at Netflix if this is available for current Netflixers and I haven’t heard back yet! But please go ahead and play just for fun anyways! ;^P

  8. I’m trying for your prize!!! Don’t know how I will do…I would probably fail these questions if my husband asked them!!! But, it’s fun!!!! I think I am *ahem* older than you (not-yet-40!!), so these may be off-the-mark for you, but I like them!! LOLQuestion #1: “While You Were Sleeping” (I also thought about “Somewhere in Time”, but thought it was too obscure. “Pride and Prejudice” was my first choice, but others had it down–even my husband likes that movie!!)Question #2Hmmmmm, I would say Keira Knightley in your part and Matthew McConaughey for your husband. I don’t know either of you and I don’t know that they have ever filmed together, but it would be a good match for them and for putting your life on the screen!Question #3″An Affair to Remember”–the old one, with Cary Grant. (Yeah, another chick-flick! Tried to think of a tearjerker involving a child/parent relationship, but I didn’t want to dwell on it and get into a funk, myself! LOL)Thanks for this contest! It was FUN! Can’t wait to hear your answers…tell us your favorite Napoleon quote…I love the one…”I see you’re drinking 1%. Is that ’cause you think you’re fat? ‘Cause you’re not. How can anyone resist that?#2 I’m gonna say Molly Ringwald for you… although I think you are much prettier than that… (kiss kiss, love love) and for your dh…hmmm…Colin Firth? Gosh, I really don’t know. I have always thought Jeff Goldblum was pretty fine, and I have been told that I was a bit “off”. Hey…maybe Gillian Anderson and David Duchovney! X-Files: Pastor Family edition… #3 Napoleon Dynamite. “I caught you a delicious bass!”Where are questions 4-6??? Here are some random answers… You will have to judge how well they it the questions.#4 “I’m melting! I’m melting! Ooooh! What a world”#5 The Breakfast Club#6 Bob the Builder

AND “This woman has to be gotten to a hospital.” “A hospital? What is it?” “It’s a big building with patients, but that’s not important right now.” Haaaaa haaaa! I am crying now! But, it is probably forgotten as old to a lot of people. Question #5–Okay, I said some of my faves in my post above, but your household’s oft repeated line is probably either “Lucky!” or “Pedro offers you his protection.” The last one is my vote.Question #6 Um, I would say, “Princess Bride”–my kids and their friends all know it (yeah from 8 until 20 years old! My kids are 8, 13, 16), so I know it, too. Also, pretty much ANY Veggie Tales ever made! Thanks again! What fun! (Do I get the prize as the chattiest commenter! ugh…my greatest downfall!)

  20. tlcmom–I LOVE this quote!I need some chapstick, my lips hurt real bad.Especially because my husband, a Phoenix Fire Captain, said he “needed some chapstick, because his lips really hurt” one morning on shift. The other firefighters really razzed him–quoting Napoleon all day long–and bought him some ChapStick at the store! The funniest thing–he had no idea WHAT they were doing and why they were acting that way. He had never seen Napoleon!
