I can’t believe I am writing my fourteenth post in a week about the same exact topic… It has to be a record for me. And you all have managed to break all records by returning over and over again to a blog that to some might sound like a broken record! But I tell you, other than being more than a wee bit bummed about my computer being in the shop now (not to return for at least another 5 days…) I am still happily spouting out that there are even more apron makers who you all MUST meet! At this point I am even having to turn down more crafters who want to get in on Apronpalooza! But this just gives me more fodder for future paloozas and bonanzas and extravaganzas and basically anything that ends in “anzas.” So, as my best friend’s mother used to always say, “keep your eyeballs peeled!” (She was from Texas.) …because there will be more events like this on the horizon!
This afternoon it is my distinct pleasure to bring to you a woman of great intellect, great faith and great skill at the sewing machine. I have mentioned her here on my blog before in my first Momtrepreneurs in the Spotlight feature. Her name is Virginia and she is the woman some might know as The Kitchen Madonna. Her site is a variegated feast for the soul, the stomach and for the satisfaction of the (new found for some of you) craving for adorable aprons! Virginia’s were the first aprons I saw that let me in on the little secret that aprons are making a come back. So in a way, you can thank her for this contest!
Virginia is also a blogger! You can find her here. Or if you have any questions about her aprons you can even e-mail her at virginiafisher at mac dot com.
Like many of the other brilliant crafters that I have been telling you about this week, Virginia sells her wares in her Etsy Shop. Her designs are quintessentially and unapologetically feminine… even her military inspired apron, in it’s cut and trim, positively effuses femininity!
Many of her designs have a decidedly flirty factor. Virginia takes extra care with each stitch of her aprons and pays close attention to the little details.
Look at the flirty flare of this pink number…
I know a certain mother in law of mine who would go positively bonkers over this one as it would match her all blue and white theme.
The WINNER will receive their choice between the following three of The Kitchen Madonna’s designs.
I love the pleated ruffle at the bottom of this one!
