Lately I have had terrible cravings for sweets. I don’t know what it is. I try to fight the cravings to the best of my abilities but sometimes I do just dive right in and sin boldly. Just Saturday I made a whole glorious chocolate cake just for a small girls get together. You’ll be proud to know that we had a lot left over and promptly shared it with a bunch of other people the following day.

With this frightening (for my hips) development, I suppose I shouldn’t be too terribly surprised that when I happened upon Sudz N Bubbles I had to keep reminding myself that this was SOAP, and not really food, for it all looks enticingly edibly delicious! (Note to winner: Please do not eat your soaps, yay verily though you be sorely tempted!) And I’m not the only one who thinks so. Cindy’s peach pie soap and Cup o’ Capuccino soap will be featured on HGTV in May of 2008!

We have the wonderful Cindy of Sudz N Bubbles to thank for this picture that I’m sure you will probably recognize:

It’s the cherry soapsicle. Can you believe it? Indeed, what pushed me over the edge in my determination to do this soap week was the existence of these adorable soaps. I would buy them “for the kids” but I have a feeling they would be mine. Oh and there’s more than just cherry. There’s lime. And more. How did Cindy know my extreme proclivity towards anything limey?

Oh, but my friends, these popsicles are only the beginning! Imagine if you will 100% glycerine soap in the shape and smell of some of your favorite baked goods. Think for a moment on the idea of chocolate cream pie soap. Or cherry tart soap.
Are you drooling yet? If you’re not, go and look and you will quite possibly, for the first time ever, feel the distinct need to throw a birthday party for yourself… in the bathtub. My husband does backflips over key lime pie… I wonder if he might do backflips if I buy him key lime pie bath soap for his birthday coming up? Of course it would be just for *him*… I would never touch the stuff. No. Never. Really. I promise.

You will find, not only soap that looks like the yummiest of desserts, but also bar soap made from some of the most tempting ingredients. From Shea Butter to Orange Sunrise, from Poignant Peppermint to Simply Sensitive you are sure to find something that tempts you and sounds like a little slice of heaven. Cindy uses only the best, most wholesome ingredients in all of her soap products. The list of ingredients used can be found right next to each product on the website.

I have never seen a soap this beautiful.

Cindy, like so many soapers, began making soap when she found that her son was experiencing eczema that was caused at least in part by the harsh ingredients in commercial soaps. Not only did her soaps dramatically improve her son’s eczema but they became an obsession for her! And aren’t we all lucky they did? Cindy makes beautiful soaps that cannot help but be as pleasing to the skin as they are to the eye and the nose!

**THE WINNER OF THIS CONTEST WILL RECEIVE A $20 GIFT CERTIFICATE TO SPEND ON WHATEVER YOU PLEASE AT SUDZ N BUBBLES**

To enter this contest you really must go and visit Sudz N Bubbles and then come back here and post which soap(s) you most want to try. This contest is open until Friday, August 31st at 11:59 p.m. A winner will be chosen by way of random selection using a random number generator and will be announced early next week!

Also, though I do not require you to post anything on your own blog about my contest in order to win, I do these contests in order to draw attention to small business owners on the web so I would love it if you would spread the word so that these hard working women can get as much advertising as possible. Big name companies have t.v. and magazines and billboards. Small businesses have the blogosphere. Let’s make it work for them! Feel free to nab a button here to put in a post or in your sidebar this week!

  7. As much as I loved the popsickle and dessert type soaps, I’m afraid they’d be the downfall of my diet. I’d be running for the fridge after my shower! ;-)This was tough, but my top favorites I’d like to try are the oatmeal & lavender, orange sunrise, lemon zest, and backwoods spice bars. I’d also love to try the orange orchard and oatmeal glycerine bars!
