We are home and so happy to not be on the road anymore! And what a warm welcome we received. When we walked in the door of our house we discovered that our church family had cleaned our whole house, including the garage which has recently (during our basement renovation project) been nicknamed, “One step up from hell.” We were blown away by their tangible expression of love. Not only had the house been thoroughly deep cleaned but they also put food in our freezer. Honestly, I’ve never seen my house as clean as I found it yesterday. We are so thankful for our church family.
I want to thank you all for your prayers and thoughts over the last two and a half weeks. God has used them and is continuing to do so. When we arrived in California Mike was still on a ventilator and having a pretty rough go of it. We really had no idea just how he was going to be in the end. By the second night that we were there he was off the ventilator and attempting to talk, though very faintly. Since then he has improved with each passing day. He came home last Friday and is doing much better than expected. He is doing WELL!! We truly witnessed miracles.
I can’t express how thankful I am that my brother is still alive!
We spent a lot of good family time. We had lots of good talks. It was hard but it was good. My prayers are with my family as they continue on the road towards total healing; mind, body and spirit.
While at home I tried to take lots of pictures of everyone so as I have so much to do around the house to get unpacked and settled in I am exchanging a long wordy blog post for a long picturey post instead.
I got several pictures of my brother, Matt. I’m really happy with how they came out.
I also got lots of my nieces…
And a couple of good ones of my sister and brother in law…
And of course I had tons of fun taking pictures of my kids with their cousins…
And many more that I’ll show you in the coming days. Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers. God is good, all of the time.
Love, love, love it!
