I love all my boys, but I particularly love staying up late and getting to know the hearts of my teenagers better. I love it every bit as much as I did rocking them to sleep when they were babies.
Parents, don’t let your frustrations with all the emotions and attitudes that come with the territory keep you at arm’s length from your kids. Draw near. Embrace the awkward. Don’t let fear of saying the wrong thing or fear of what they might share keep you from engaging them. How dearly they need at those very points to know how irrevocably you love them.
